Former “residents” of Donetsk region will be treated in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)

Today, 5 bears were delivered to the Rehabilitation Center for Brown Bears of the National Wildlife Park "Synevyr". Until now, they were kept in the Pokrovsk mini-zoo in Donetsk region, the post on the Park’s page on Facebook informs.

According to the inspectors of the State Ecological Inspectorate of Ukraine, the animals were kept in small cages and unsanitary conditions, which is a violation of norms. The owner of the bears refused to give up the animals. Unidentified persons did not even allow the representatives of the State Ecological Inspectorate to enter the territory of the zoo, so they called the police. The case went to court. On February 5, the Krasnoarmiysk inter-district court of Donetsk region arrested the bears, and already on February 8 they were delivered to the Rehabilitation Center of the National Nature Park "Synevyr".
– Transportation of animals was successful, without incidents. These bears have a circus past, so traveling is not new for them. They were living in terrible conditions. In my many years of practice, I have never seen such a bad attitude treatment of bears as I saw in Pokrovsk, – veterinarian Mykola Miroshnichenko, who was accompanying animals from Donetsk region to the Carpathians, said.

– Now, there are 31 bears in our rehabilitation center. The staff of the institution have a lot of work and responsibilities. The new inhabitants are receiving special attention. We have never received as many as five bears at the same time. They were placed in the quarantine sector. The animals are being inspected by the veterinarian, – Mykola Derbak, the Director of the National Wildlife Park "Synevyr" said.
Now the bears are being nurtured.
