Foreign delegates will be recieved in Transcarpathia

The Carpathians is a mountain range passing through the territory of eight countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine.

In all countries, mountainous areas have similar problems: poorer climates and soil conditions, limited transport accessibility, poor infrastructure and often peripheral location.
Therefore, the common task of the authorities of mountain regions is to speed up their socio-economic development while preserving the natural environment. These issues will be considered during the international conference "II Carpathian Neighborliness Days – Meeting of the Carpathian Regions", which will be held on August 9 at the Center for Forestry Promotion in the village of Muchne (Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Poland).
During the conference projects aimed at enhancing and improving the accessibility of the Carpathian region will be presented. It is planned that the discussion will focus on the opportunities as well as the difficulties arising in the development of the partnership, as well as the real cooperation and development of common interests of the border mountain regions of Ukraine and Poland.
The forum will be attended by the Marshal of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship Wladislaw Ortil, Voivod Eva Leniart, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Igor Bondarenko, the Acting Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Yosyp Borto.
Together with scientists, they will consider the Carpathian Strategy as a concept for the development of the Central and Eastern European macro-region, interregional initiatives aimed at increasing the accessibility of the Carpathians; investments and activities at national and regional levels, barriers to partnership development and more.
And the next day, on August 10, the participants of the Neighborliness Days will be greeted on the border with Transcarpathia at the crossing point "Lubnya – Wolosate". At 10.00, the presentation of Uzhok National Park, review of exhibition stands for the promotion of tourism potential of Transcarpathian region.
Then, the delegates will go to the village of Vyshka where they visit St. Michael’s wooden church – a monument of architecture of national importance. After that, the official part of the holiday will take place in the Krasia tract at the Alpen House tourist complex, during which the heads of the delegations of the two countries will sign the Joint Action Program for 2020.
