“First Bell” called not only students, but also customs officers

On September 1, first school bell rang for the 28 newcomers of Velyky Berezny boarding school. The children and teachers were congradulated with the Day of Knowledge by the Chief of Chop Customs, Oleksandr Pohylko. The only in the Transcarpathian region sanatorium boarding school where children with cardiovascular disease learn and live, cordially greeted newcomers – 14 girls and 14 boys. With the happy smiling faces the first-graders eagerly awaited for gifts that are so necessary for learning of socially vulnerable kids.

Chief Custom Officer of the region wished the children to safely cross the threshold of the school, which for 11 years will be a second home for them. Here the experienced teaching staff will teach them to live, to understand all the basics of science and will prepare future members of many professions.

At the end of celebrations Customs General gave each first grader small presents, the remaining 220 students were also given stationery, and the teacher team received a laser printer. Mr. Pohylko said that the best graduates will be accepted to the Customs Academy, after which they will join the ranks of Transcarpathian customs officials.
