The Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine Filaret came to Transcarpathia.
He visited Transcarpathian diocese in order to consecrate the newly built temple in honor of the Holy Virgin in Perechyn.
The Patriarch was greeted by faithfuls not only from Perechyn, but from all over Transcarpathia. And above all, by children and soldiers. During the meeting with the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, kids released white doves into the sky.
Filaret also conducted Divine Liturgy. And then, there was a lytia for the soldiers of the 128th Transcarpathian mountain infantry brigade killed in the area of the ATO. The head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church blessed the memorial cross located in the temple.
Together with Filaret, people prayed for peace and reunification of Ukrainian lands, for the repose of the dead and for the health of our soldiers.
In his sermon, the Patriarch said that one should not fear death and trials and that God knows how to punish those responsible for the troubles. And all good souls should hope for the best and above all – to believe. Filaret expressed confidence: soon we will see a truly free Ukraine, with God’s help.
Here are the photos of how the visit of Filaret to Transcarpathia and the events with his participation took place.
