He was a brilliant composer, violinist, conductor and priest. His brilliant, in many ways innovative music enjoyed popularity during his lifetime and had a significant impact on contemporaries, but after the death of the author, was in oblivion for almost 200 years.
March 4 marks the 340th birthday of Antonio Vivaldi. And on the same day, a concert featuring works of this musical genius will take place in the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic. The chamber orchestra under direction of the Honored Artist of Ukraine Vladislav Yurosh, the soloist of the Philharmonic, Katerina Hazho (organ) and a whole constellation of bright performers, including Honored Artist of Ukraine Oksana Kharkhalis (mezzo soprano), Diana Havata (cello), Oksana Grinevich (flute), Taras Popovich (flute), Emmerich and Tomas Popovichs (trumpet), Yaroslav Breslavsky (guitar), Olena Yurosh (harpsichord), will take part in the concert. The program includes opera arias, parts from concerts for various solo instruments and ensembles accompanied by string orchestra, organ adaptions of A. Vivaldi’s pieces by Bach, etc. The music created by this talented musician over three centuries aga remains timeless and still strikes with its freshness, beauty and passion. The event will be hosted by the music historian Natalia PITSUR. The concert will be held within the project "Weekend Music."
