On July 5, 2012 at 4 p.m. a personal exhibition of Odessa artists Nikolay and Alla Vorokhta "Dreams and memories" was held in the gallery of Mukachevo Historical Museum at the Castle "Palanok".
At the exhibition of artists, who are the members of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, paintings and graphic works, written during1971 – 2012, were presented. Unfortunately, only Nikolay Vorokhta managed to be present at the opening of the exhibition.
The themes of Nikolay Vorohta’s works are quite wide: from the traditional mountain and sea landscapes to innovative works using unconventional techniques and materials, from painting – to the author’s graphic, from the abstract art – to works in the genre of surrealism. Despite the fact that most of his life the artist has lived outside of our region, in his works the influence of the Transcarpathian school of artists is clearly felt.
Nikolay Vorokhta, a native of Rakhiv, moved to Odessa in the 70-s, where until 1997 he worked as a teacher of drawing and painting department in the Architectural Institute of Odessa State Academy of Architecture and Construction. But even being beyond the Silver Land, the artist has not forgotten his home land: many of his paintings are about Transcarpathia.
The exhibition was visited by the Deputy Mayor Michael Labosh, who congratulated the artist with the opening of the exhibition and noted his great skill, and presented Nikolay Vorokhta a book "Mukachevo – a city of open hearts" in memory of the city over the Latoritsa.
