Easter at home: the President told how Ukrainians will celebrate holiday during the quarantine

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with heads of churches on celebration of Easter in the conditions of coronavirus spread.

This was reported by the press service of the Office of the President.

In particular, Zelensky said that the preparation to the "Easter at home" project is currently underway, which will help to celebrate the religious holiday at home without attending a church service, where a large number of people, including those from abroad, usually gather.

The head of the state noted that church leaders understand that it is now necessary to limit the number of people during ceremonies, but the issue of Easter celebration is the most difficult.

It is known that priests are aware that service can be held in the form of a video conference.

The president also met with local officials to discuss the need for police patrols near churches and temples.

It was noted that, if necessary, law enforcement officers will explain to believers that crowds of large numbers of people are dangerous not only for them but also for others.

In addition, Zelensky said there was an agreement with church leaders that if necessary they can cooperate with representatives of regional staffs dealing with prevention of the coronavirus spread.
