During the year since the enactment of the law 3251, the state budget received more than 4.1 billion hryvnias – Robert Horvat

People’s Deputy of Ukraine Robert Horvat wrote this on his Facebook page:

"One year has elapsed since the enactment of the Law No. 1389-VIII "On Amendments to sub-chapter 5 of the chapter XX "Transitional Provisions" of the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding the promotion of the development of the used vehicle market", better known as the bill 3251.

In response to my request, the SFS of Ukraine informed that from August 1, 2016 to August 1, 2017, more than 50 thousand used cars were imported to Ukraine, and over 4.1 billion hryvnias was paid to the state budget. For comparison, over the same previous period, about 17 thousand cars were imported, and the budget received about 1.8 billion hryvnias. Despite all complaints from skeptics, thanks to the Law, Ukrainians imported three times more cars, and the state budget additionally received more than 2.3 billion hryvnia.

Once again I emphasize that the problem of "cars with foreign registration" will completely disappear only when an average Ukrainian is able to purchase a car at a price not higher than the average in Europe, and for this a civilized market of used cars must be created in Ukraine. And we are working on it".
