Today, border guards of the Chop detachment once again draw attention of travelers to the rules of crossing the state border, in particular during the transportation of organized groups of children to vacation or rehibilitation. During 2014, officers of the Chop detachment at checkpoints "Velyky Berezny", "Uzhgorod", "Mali Selmentsi", "Tisa", "Chop" and "Uzhgorod – Airport" did not let 189 minor citizens of Ukraine go abroad. By comparison, last year the number of underage travelers not allowed to leave the country was 230 persons.
The main reason for denials in admission is absence of letters of trust from parents which are required in cases where a child is accompanied by only one of the parents or by a person authorized by them. Other reasons for denilas are absence of children’s photos in the parents’ documents (for children who are 5 years old or older), invalid documents for travel abroad or the absence thereof, expiry of passport or technical malfunction of passport.
That is why border guards appeal to citizens asking to thoroughly prepare for foreign voyages and remind of the importance of correct paperwork. In order to meet the latter, citizens of Ukraine shall be governed by the following legal acts:
Law of Ukraine "On the procedure for exit from Ukraine and entry to Ukraine for citizens of Ukraine."
Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dd. January 27, 1995 №57 "On approval of rules for crossing the border by citizens of Ukraine" (as amended by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine №724 dd. August 25 2010).
Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dd. December 21, 2005 № 1251 "On the procedure of transportation of children abroad for vacation and rehabilitation."
