Drug smuggling at the border with Slovakia

A truck with probably hard drugs was detained by border guards at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod".

At the border with Slovakia, the border guards inspected a truck Volvo driven by a 30-year-old Ukrainian citizen. The vehicle loaded with plywood was heading to Germany.

Based on the information received from the Operations and Investigation Division, the truck was sent for an in-depth inspection. In a cache inside plywood sheets, the border guards found packages with a dark brown substance.

According to the results of the preliminary express analysis, it was heroin. The substance was sent to experts for examination, and the driver who transported the substance was detained. According to the press service of the Chop Border Guard Detachment, the inspection continues and the quantity and weight of the found substance is being determined.
