Disabled and disadvantaged dwellers of Transcarpathia will be provided with TV tuners for free

The category of citizens who can receive TV tuners for free is defined for the transition to digital broadcasting.

From now on you can watch over 20 (soon 32) Ukrainian TV channels for free in high digital quality picture and sound through the usual antenna. For reception of the signal between the antenna and TV set there should be connected a special device which is called TV tuner.

As it was reported by the management of information and public relations of Transcarpathian Regional Administration, free TV tuners will receive:

1. Persons with disabilities of the first and second categories, and war veterans with the third category of disability;
2. Individuals who are bringing up a disabled child if the child lives with them and is not on a full government maintenance;  
3. Individuals from the low income families who receive the state aid in accordance with the Law of Ukraine ‘On state social assistance to disadvantaged families’;
4. Individuals covered by the right to receive subsidies for the reimbursement for the payment for public utilities during the heating season of 2011 – 2012 years;

In order to receive TV tuners free of charge citizens who belong to the declared categories must appeal to the local labor offices and social protection with the corresponding statements till July 1, 2012.
