Deputies propose to restrict the traffic of vehicles in Transcarpathian forests

The 23rd session of the regional council supported the request of deputy Mykola Rishko to ban uncontrolled vehicle traffic in forest lands of the region and decided to send it to the regional state administration.

The document states that "regional state administration adopted the order of 23.07.2008, № 447 "On prohibition of traffic of any motor vehicles in the territories of nature reserve fund in the region." The above order applies only to the territories and objects of the natural reserve fund that are subject to special administrations of the natural reserve fund "Carpathian Biosphere Reserve," the national parks "Synevyr", "Uzhansky", "Enchanted Land" and those that are under the authority of the Transcarpathian Regional Forestry and Hunting Husbandry Department and other landowners, land users.

Due to the fact that a large part of the state forest fund in the region, that is not within territories and objects of natural reserve fund, is not covered by the ban, it is necessary to address the issue of preventing uncontrolled use of these territories for races, trophy-raids, rallies.

So deputies urge to recommend the Transcarpathian Regional Forestry and Hunting Husbanfry Department and district state administrations to pass appropriate local regulations to prohibit the tarffic of special motor vehicles in the territories under their control and to develop and mark routes for such vehicles.
