Hungarian police have detained a 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen who caused a fatal accident driving his car with a Slovak license plate on the main road 54 near the town of Kecskemét, the Mukachevo.net reported. A 66-year-old woman died in the accident.
According to the Hungarian website pestihirlap.hu, the driver, who was driving an Opel with Slovak license plate, started overtaking two cars, but could not complete the maneuver, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a car Toyota.
A 66-year-old female passenger died at the scene, and a 66-year-old driver was injured.
The Ukrainian was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. It was suspected that he was in a state of intoxication, which was confirmed by a test.
The man was detained by the police, and a court in Kecskemét requested his arrest.
