Today, Saturday, October 24, it is the Day of silence in Ukraine. At 00.00, all political advertising in the streets must have been gone.
It is prohibited to campaign for political parties and candidates, to conduct meetings for political advertising, there are restrictions to the content of media reports.
On the eve of local elections to be held tomorrow, Sunday, October 25, any campaigning and political advertising is prohibited in Ukraine.
It is provided by the Law of Ukraine "On Local Elections".
This means that it is prohibited today to cary out campaigning activities, distribute election campaign materials in mass media, to show campaign films or videos, disseminate printed campaigning, to publicly encourage to vote or not to vote for candidates, to publicly evaluate the activities of certain candidates.
Also it is prohibit to hold mass events, performances, demonstrations of films and TV programs on behalf of candidates and local party organizations that are subjects of the election process.
Publishing the results of opinion polls on the election is prohibited until the end of voting.
All campaign materials should be dismantled and destroyed. However, the rules of the "day of silence" shall not include information about the election itself, appeals to participate in it, explanation of legislation and the voting procedure.
Regarding Transcarpathia social activists, observers and concerned citizens observe partial non-compliance – e.g., certain political advertising, including billboards, remain. Meanwhile, an original campaign to invite Transcarpathiansto vote – #Come_to_election continues.
