COVID-19: another anti-records in Uzhgorod and Ukraine

As of the morning of August 20, 1153 Uzhgorod residents have been confirmed to have COVID-19. This was reported by the health department of Uzhgorod city council and Uzhgorod city and district branch of the State Institution "Transcarpathian Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine". 

36 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the past 24 hours in Uzhgorod.

579 people have recovered  

16 persons have died.
  
40 Uzhgorod residents are hospitalized, 518 are on outpatient treatment.

In the last 24 hours, mobile crews have collected 148 samples of biological materials for polymerase chain reaction test. 

In Transcarpathia, during the past day, 110 persons were diagnosed with COVID-19, 1 of them is medical worker, and 5 are children.

1249 samples of biological materials for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing were collected.

For the past 24hrs, 1 death among patients diagnosed with COVID-19 has been reported. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, 243 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 have died. 

2866 patients have recovered.  

Overall, as of 9:00 am on August 20, 2020, 6662 patients have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Of those, 801 are health care workers and 369 are children.

In Ukraine, 2134 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the past 24 hours

40 people with confirmed diagnosis have died. This was announced at a briefing by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

In total, during the entire period of the epidemic in Ukraine, 98537 cases of COVID-19 infection have been confirmed. A total of 50441 patients have recovered. 2184 patients have died.

Most new cases were found in Chernivtsi (189), Lviv (183) and Ivano-Frankivsk (168) regions.
