Coronavirus: in Hungary, people will be screened at entry into the country

Hungarian police and the National Ambulance Service (OMSZ) are screening travelers entering Hungary for coronaviruses at six major border crossings across the country, the national police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Christoph Gal told at the press conference at the border crossing in Tompa, on the border of Hungary and Serbia, that the checkpoints in Artanda, Csanadpalota, Ruske, Tompa, Udvar and Letenje are also points of entry to the Schengen area.

Most buses carrying Chinese tourists to Hungary drive through those checkpoints, Gal said. According to Gal, tourists have their temperature measured there, and people with fever will be isolated and, if necessary, sent to hospitals. Gal said the police provides protective equipment and disinfectants at all border crossings in the country. Budapest Airport checks the temperature of the passengers at all flights from China, he said.
