Over the past two days, 50 millimeters of rain have fallen in Transcarpathia, which is the half-month rate of rain. However, due to the long lack of precipitation in the previous period, the rivers and the land took up the excess moisture without problems. The rise of water occurred within the boundaries of the original banks without water entering the floodplain and flooding of farmland or dairy farms. In some local cases, in Irshava and Vynogradiv districts, there were thunderstorms with hailstones that did not harm the agriculture and infrastructure.
Heavy rains partly washed out the snow in the highlands, but at altitudes of more than 1200 meters, 70 percent of the mountains are still covered with snow. There is no risk of avalanches, however, there may be snowslides on the ridges.
Snow-capped mountains will be giving water to the Tisa for another month. This week, rain is predicted all over the Transcarpathia, the water level in the rivers will be maintained at the current level or gradually drop.
The temperature is expected to drop, and in the high mountains next week there may even be wet snow.
