Discussing the activities of the program to support small and medium enterprises in Uzhgorod for the years 2013-14, the participants of the meeting, held on November 9 at the City Hall, agreed that the government should give more details and specify the concrete steps.
Head of Transcarpathian Fund for Entrepreneurship Support "TES Fund" Andriy Vartsaba said that the program should provide for methods to create new sources of revenue, new jobs, possibly by creating a city fund to support entrepreneurship.
The head of the committee on economic development, planning, innovation, investment and industrial policy, transport, communications and energy, trade, business support and regulatory policies, the city council deputy Konstantin Datsyuk proposed to divide the measures into 2 parts: what the city council may offer business and what suggestions they can submit to the central authority of the state.
According to Datsyuk, the city council should also provide entrepreneurs with a list of objects of municipal property and commercial land lots the agreements for which are about to expire, so that entrepreneurs could plan and develop their businesses and offer more effective use thereof, revenue increase, urban development, increase of the investment attractiveness. Margarita Moshchak added that now, unfortunately, the development of the city is reduced to installation of new hardscape elements, while having a clear analysis of what the city has to offer, one could apply to investors, such as "Ashan", "Metro", etc., so they come to work in Uzhgorod, pay taxes here, gave jobs.
The next meeting to discuss the implementation of the program of measures to support business development in Uzhgorod is scheduled for the next Friday, November 16. They plan to invite representatives of unions and business associations.
