Chop border guards detained illegal migrants from Cameroon

In recent days, officers of the Chop border guard detachment have stopped a number of illegal border crossings.

Thus, the border guards of the "Guta" unit detained two illegal immigrants from the African continent who were trying to enter the EU illegally outside the crossing point.

The "guet" of unknown persons of unusual for the region appearence, who were moving towards the Ukrainian-Slovak border, were noticed by local residents who immediately reported to the border guards. In a few minutes, the border guards detained the two men near the state border. On the request to present documents that could certify their identities, they replied that they did not have any documents with them and only explained that they were the citizens of Cameroon. Later the detainees said that they were heading to one of the European Union countries in order to improve living conditions. By the decision of the Ukrainian justice the offenders were brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine amounting to 7,500 UAH.

Also, two citizens of Italy, a German and a Korean were brought to the administrative responsibility for violations of the rules for stay on the territory of Ukraine. For the excess of the allowed term of stay in Ukraine, they had to pay a fine totaling 1530 UAH, – informed the press service of the Chop border guard detachment.
