Chairman of the Ukrainian National Olympic Committee in Transcarpathia: “It is complicated to train summer olympians in Transcarpathia”

"I think that the results of Ukrainian olympic team in London are quite natural" – said Ivan Rylyak, the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Head of Regional Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science and Master of Sports in the USSR, in his comments to http://uzhgorod.in. "And considering the way we were treated by the referees, I would say these results are even good. Of course, we expected more medals and aimed to get ahead of China (he jokes), but with regards to the current state of sports, the result is quite objective. We hoped for more medals the gymnastics, boat racing, but it’s sport, so it’s rather difficult to predict the number of medals." According to Ivan Rylyak, the olympians were provided with everything what was needed in order to get ready for the games. "They received everything what they asked for from the Olympic Committee" – emphasized he.Regarding the Transcarpathian prospects for future summer Olympic games Ivan Rylyak says that our region will of course make everything possible to prepare them, but to do it in Transcarpathian conditions will be very difficult, as we lack a proper infrastructure for swimming, athletics and other summer disciplines. But we have regular participants of Winter Games.Just to remind, Ukrainian team has won 20 medals (six of them in gold) at the Olympic games this summer and took the 14th place in the non-official medal standings.
