Castle Stairs: no changes in six weeks (PHOTOS)

Six weeks ago, in April, we reported that workers of Uzhgorod power company were performing earthworks at the castle stairs in the regional center. They explained that those works were necessary in order to lay an electric cable.

But any earthworks in the city should include a complete restoration of the damaged road or sidewalk surface. In April, employees of the Department of Municipal Economy assured that no permissions for this kind of work were issued without a contract for restoration. And the manager of the city power company said during a phone call that the work would take 1-2 days, after which everything would be restored.

Two days later, the cable was laid, the trench was filled with dirt, and the remains of the removed tile were carelessly thrown on top. The stairs looked like this:

We waited two days. Sincerely hoping, that the workers could not finish the job not because of carelessness, but because of bad weather.  We then waited a week. And two. But today is already June 10. There has been enough time to do the restoration work.

And what do we see? Try to find at least five significant differences compared to the April photo…

It is unclear whose fault is greater: either the contractors failed to perform the contract for restoration, or the power company presented to the Department of Municipal Economy a fake contract, or employees of the Department do not see what is going in the city at the facilities which are under their responsibility.

Is it time to bring the city prosecutor’s office to investigate it? As we see, there are enough reasons for it…
