Cable thefts in Transcarpathia have become more frequent

Employees of criminal police of Uzhgorod and Mukachevo police department solved similar crimes, namely cable thefts.

In Uzhgorod, the police identified the people involved in the theft of cable on Zankovetska street. The police arrested three men, all of them had been brought to responsibility for thefts. The damaged cable belongs to one of the local operators, which provides local and mobile communication services.

A similar case happened in Mukachevo, where a telecommunication company employee reported about the theft of 50 m of cable. Police found out that the theft had been committed by a 27-year-old resident of the village of Pavshyno. The man had already been brought to justice for a similar offense.

Criminal proceedings were initiated over those two incidents under Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft). It is punishable by a fine of up to fifty non-taxable minimum incomes, or correctional labor for up to two years, or imprisonment for up to three years.
