The IX International Butcher Competition brought together 12 teams from Transcarpathia, Hungary and Serbia, the portal Veregszasznews informs.
Despite the capricious weather, that during the day was accompanied by strong winds and blizzard, a lot of people came to enjoy fresh meat, especially tourists from different regions of Ukraine and neighboring Hungary.
Once again, the problem of the festival was the dirt at the site, so savvy citizens even offered to buy cellophane bags at the entrance, so as not to get the shoes dirty. Prices at the competition of butchers are moderate. However, some sellers were offering homemade sausage for as much as 150 UAH / kg, and hurka – for 90 UAH / kg.
Fans of meat products have the opportunity to enjoy different varieties of hurka (blood, liver), jelly, bacon, fresh smoked sausage and bacon. Stewed cabbage, potatoes can be ordered as garnish. Meat dishes are traditionally washed down with mulled wine, house wine and vodka. On the stage, artists raise the spirit with Ukrainian and Hungarian songs. In the evening, the most professional butchers and chefs will be awarded. The holiday will continue tomorrow.
