The border for foreigners is closing due to the deteriorating epidemic situation with the coronavirus.
On August 26, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to close the border to foreigners on August 29. And today it was decided that entry for foreigners to Ukraine would be prohibited from August 28.
This decision was made at the extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday, August 27, the Korrespondent.net writes citing the post of the Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in his telegram channel.
"During the extraordinary meeting, the remarks of citizens received during the past day were taken into account and the relevant amendments were made to the resolution," – the prime minister said.
At the same time, some groups of foreigners will be able to enter the country subject to having an insurance policy for the treatment of coronavirus, Shmyhal said.
According to him, we are talking about foreigners who have a work permit in Ukraine, transit passengers with documents confirming departure from Ukraine within two days.
In addition, entry remains open to foreigners coming to Ukraine for study or military service. Also, the ban does not apply to foreign diplomats and their companions.
