Once again, the monopolist on the electricity market in Transcarpathia, the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC demands the Uzhgorod municipal enterprise to repay the debt for the services rendered.
This time, the amount is over three million hryvnia. Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv promised to find the required amount in the city budget and use it to repay the water unility’s debt.
"I just spoke with the head of the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC. So, citizens will have water, there will be no interruption of water supply. We’ll find the mechanism to repay the debt that arose due to late repayment of subsidies. It is a nationwide issue. But we will find a way to pay the water utility’s costs in order to avoid power outages, and as a consequence, interruption of water supply in Uzhgorod.
People must timely pay for water, electricity and gas, and such problems will not arise," – the mayor said, adding that it is too early to talk about the terms of the debt repayment.
The details will be announced after the meeting with the head of the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC Viktor Petrov. Recall that today the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC appealed to the MU "Vodokanal of Uzhgorod" with the request to pay the debts for the electricity consumed (which as of 06.26.2017 is UAH 3.2 million) or, under current legislation, to reduce their consumption of electricity in accordance with the amount actually paid.
If the utility company does not find the money by June 30, the power company will terminate power supply to the facilities of the MU "Vodokanal of Uzhgorod".
