Holiday of fresh meat. The festival of butchers in Hecha has lost its unique feature, but preserved its taste. Pigs are honored in Beregovo district. The festival in the village of Hecha was founded as an event that honors butchers, because it is a hard and venerable profession. But, then the opponents of meat diet interfered. So, for the second year in a row the festival has been held in a different format.
Now, it is just a culinary festival, which, however, is also interesting. Today, it is a holiday for cooks and their clients. They offer smoked and, of course, fresh meat. Mrs. Svitlana, was dreaming to visit to such a festival for 9 years. She owns a meat shop and wanted to see how butchers work at the festival. She is disappointed that she did not have a chance to watch the work of butchers, but was impressed by the variety of pork dishes and cooks’ craftsmanship. Mr Oleg from Bukovina believes that such a festival should be launched in his home region. It will motivate farmers and attract tourists – he believes, and in the meantime, goes to taste pork dishes from Transcarpathians. Oh, but why only Transcarpathians? The Hungarians presented a magnificent cuisine, which is made up of an extraordinary menu of pork dishes: from soup with a secret recipe and to simple steaks. Their butcher cuts a pig carcass right on the table, separating certain parts for certain dishes. They love meat and know how to cook it. They say: the most important thing is the condition of the meat, and of course, we will add spices!
