On Wednesday, January 17, the traditional Christmas meeting of the leadership of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese with journalists was held at the episcopal residence in Uzhgorod. People gathered in the consistorial hall, where the event began with the performance of the choir from the village of Dubrivka, Uzhgorod district.
After that, there was the presentation of Mykhailo Luchkay Award for books and research on the spirituality and history of Transcarpathia. The Award of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese was founded in 2013 and is awarded every two years. The laureates of the M.Luchkay Award have been the researchers of local lore Mykhailo Syrokhman, Ludwig Filip, Mykhailo Pryimych, Oleksandr Havrosh. This year, Bishop Milan presented the award to art critic Mykhailo Pryimych for the reasearch "Church painting of Transcarpathia", as well as the historian Roman Ofitsynsky for the book "Excursions to Uzhgorod" and the religious scholar from Ternopil Volodymyr Moroz for the book "The Light of Faith".
Later, Bishop Milan and Assistant Bishop Nil arranged an excursion to the chapel with paintings by Y. Bokshay.
