The Prosecutor General of Ukraine will initiate the development and use of identification marks on the uniform for employees of the Interior Ministry special forces for their quick identification.
As the Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka said, it is not right that officers involved in special operations can not be identified.
The Prosecutor General said that it is very difficult to determine exactly which "Berkut" officers were involved in the crackdown of the Euromaidan because they were all with closed faces and masks, and there were no marks on their clothing or other identification.
"You may ask if any ordinary "Berkut" fighters will be brought to responsibility. This is a very difficult question – they were with invisible faces, in masks. We have studied the guidelines and regulations of "Berkut". Unfortunately, there is no provision about the specific marks for each fighter or on his clothes or on the helmet that correspond to real last name…. We will raise this issue in a legal manner," – Pshonka said.
Today, the Prosecutor General Pshonka said that they had delivered notifications of suspision of abuse of power in connection with the crackdown of the rally on November 30, to the Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council Volodymyr Sivkovych, the head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov, the then chief of the Kyiv police Valery Koryak and his deputy Petro Fedchuk – the press service of the prosecutor’s office in Transcarpathian region reported.
Meanwhile, the President Viktor Yanukovych dismissed Popov and Sivkovych.
Recall, that Transcarpathian journalists also demand to introduce identification marks on the uniform of "Berkut" officers.
