Beregovo schoolchildren will stay longer on holidays because of the viral infection outbreak

Schoolchildren in the city of Beregovo in Transcarpathia will have additional "holidays" – schools in the city have been quarantined until February 5 because of the viral infection outbreak.

This decision was taken at the meeting of the Commission on Technological and Environmental Safety and Emergencies with the participation of the relevant specialists, – Zoltan Babyak, Mayor of Beregovo reported on his Facebook page.

In kindergartens, the educational process is not interrupted. However, doctors ask parents not to bring sick children to kindergartens, but call doctors.

According to the Transcarpathian Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the number of patients with acute respiratory viral infections in the region has significantly increased in the last week. Last week (from 12.01 to 19.01), 2825 people appealed to doctors with symptoms of acute respiratory infections, which is 28% more than that in the previous one. Most of the patients are children of school age and adults, aged 30-64.
