Before the New Year, apologize to those you have insulted and repay all debts

There are many folk superstitions and customs associated with New Year and other winter holidays.

On December 31, people would often tell fortune, trying to predict their fate and the weather.

On December 31, the New Year’s Eve, repay all debts, clean your house and put it on something new.

Before the New Year, apologize to all those you have offended by accident last year. All debts must be paid by December 31, but do not pay on January 1, otherwise you will be paying all year long.

Before the New Year, clean you house, polish windows and mirrors. Throw away all broken or cracked dishes.

In the old days, on the New Year’s Eve, it was accustomed to tie the legs of the table with ropes. It was believed that this will help keep the family together over the next year – no one will leave home, the family will not be broken by grief and sadness.

On New Year’s Eve, you should wear a new dress, then you will have many new things during the year.
Throw away old clothes and shoes to leave troubles in the past.
