The heads of the largest banks at a closed meeting with the government official on September 23 agreed to sell dollars at the rate of no more than 12.95 hryvnia for one dollar.
This was reported by the manager of one of the banks on condition of anonymity, the "UNIAN" informed.
"We agreed to sell at no more than 12.95 hryvnia for one dollar, we will be working with clients – exporters and importers, explaining the situation," – the agency’s source said.
According to him, the further devaluation may lead to disastrous consequences in the banking system and the economy, and bankers are well aware of that.
