At the “Shevchenko Alley”, guests from the “Book-Fest” were talking, admiring nature and tasting bograch

On May 26, the "Shevchenko Alley" in the village of Nyzhnye Solotvyno in Uzhgorod district welcomed the participants and guests of the festival "Book-Fest 2016", the Department of Information and Public Relations of the RSA informs. Two years ago, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko, it was planted by Transcarpathian writers together and with the support of the Directorate of the SE "Uzhgorod forestry." This living monument to Kobzar has gained good reputation. After all, Ukrainian and Slovak writers, scholars from Prešov, Košice self-governing territories, together with the Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod Janka Burianova also contributed to this noble cause.

The guests, including the chairman of the Union of Rusyns-Ukrainians of Slovakia Petro Sokol, his deputy Victor Bandurchyn, editor of the paper "Nove Zhyttya", a famous journalist from Slovakia Miroslav Ilyuk, writers and publishers from Odessa, Lviv, Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine, Transcarpathian writers, publishers, were welcomed by the director of the Uzhgorod forestry Vasyl Kyi.

  Forester Mykhailo Kushtan delivered a fascinating speech about a variety of rare species of trees that grow in this alley, unique types of fir trees. Then, they were walking along the alley, taking pictures, struck up an interesting conversation about the present and future of the Carpathian forest, about the great work being done in this State Forestry to preserve the forest.

Of course, the pleasant impressions of what they saw and heard were enhanced by the smell of potato baked on bonfire and the trademark dish cooked by the staff of the forestry – bograch.
