At the “Book-fest” they presented the book by the sailor who has visited 70 countries

The "Book – fest" festival in the regional center continues. Publishers are presented in "Uzhgorod" art gallery. In total there are sixteen of them, mostly from Transcarpathia.   There are a lot of books, but no noticable excitement. The manager of "Astrolyabiya" publishing house Volodymyr Rusynyak said that they had earned only 400 UAH, but they were not upset, because they saw the interest in books. Although, the participation of the publishing house in the festival is more expensive. One of the the best selling books is the book by A. Zakalyuka "Introduction to the history of Ukraine. Our land – Transcarpathia." He attributes it to educational reforms of the Minister Tabachnik.

Instead, writer Miroslav Dochynets with his publisher "Karpatska vezha" of Mukachevo is pleased with the number of books sold.  While we were talking to the author, a lady came up to him and said: "reading of your books is a honey for the soul."

Interestingly, some publishers had living advertisement. Such as "IVA". Scientist Yuri Tsmur who is the winner of the "Invention-2000" contest in Kyiv, not only talked about his own book, but also presented the humic fertilizer which brought him the victory.

A blue-eyed sailor was hard to miss at the show. Uzhgorod resident Budynsky Dmytro, who is the captain of the container ship promoted his own book, "Full speed ahead". During his 37 years of life he has seen 70 countries, so he decided to describe them in the book. Representative of the "Lyra" publishing house Vitaly Hymynets stated that the sailor’s book sells well on the fest, because live communication with the author is better than any advertising. It costs only 30 UAH.

"My ABC" by Petro Skunts and history of Transcarpathia by various authors were also popular.

Deputy Director of the publishing house "Educational book-Bogdan" Oleg Soroka says that they were not after sales numbers, but had something to boast about. Among their authors there are Transcarpathians – children’s writer Halyna Malyk and Oleksandr Havrosh. Right at that moment they brought up his new book "Captain Alois" which had been presented
in Uzhgorod on the day before. It costs 27 UAH. "Books are expensive now. The state not only does not support the domestic book publishing, but puts a spoke in the wheel" – sums up the interlocutor.

The festival continues, so hurry for some books. You have the opportunity to secretly vote for your favorite book. The results of the contest "Book – visitors’ choice" will be announced in the evening.
