An Uzhgorod resident robbed the laboratory of the physics faculty of UzhNU

A 31-year-old resident of Uzhgorod is suspected of the theft of special equipment from the laboratory of the physics faculty of Uzhgorod National University. The incident is being investigated.

Back in November, Uzhgorod police received a statement from the guard of the physics faculty of Uzhgorod National University. In the morning, workers found out that the glass in the premises of the physics faculty laboratory, which is located on Voloshin street in the regional center, was broken. Components and special equipment was stolen from the laboratory.

During the search operations, officers of the Criminal Police found out that the lab had been robbed by a 31-year-old resident of the city of Uzhgorod. This man has a criminal record for theft.

The police started criminal proceeding over this incident under Part 3 of Article 185 (burglary) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. 

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for three to six years.

The choice of a pre-trial restraint is being decided.
