As of today, October 25, the heating season started in all districts and cities of Transcarpathia, except the city of Uzhgorod and Mukachevo district. All facilities, where the premises are heated with solid fuel, are provided with coal and firewood. This was discussed during the meeting of the energy headquarters at the Regional State Administration, which reviewed the state of the heating season in the region, – the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration informed.
Heads of institutions and budget organizations are personally responsible for providing boiler rooms with fuel for the heating season. Therefore, it was noted that the facilities, where natural gas is used for heating premises, must conduct public procurement of blue fuel for the heating period and the next budget year and to conclude respective contracts.
As decisions on the beginning of the heating season are made by the local authorities, according to the results of the meeting, the managements of the city of Uzhgorod and Mukachevo district were recommended to adopt relevant decisions to ensure proper temperatures in social facilities.
As for Uzhgorod schools, because of low temperatures in the premises, parents are already starting to take their children home and be alarmed:
"Dear City Hall, I know that you read it. School # 4, the temperature in the classroom is +10 degrees, how can children study in such conditions? The principal says that they need the city administration’s permission to start heating. Is that how you trying to save money? But at what price? The parents are taking children out of classes, I’ve been at home for three days because I am ill!" – Michal Ruščák wrote.
