The unique tree – Albizia julibrissin – is blooming in the Uzhgorod Botanical Garden.
The plant, that comes from Iran, is covered with pink inflorescences. The tree, which is also called the silk tree acacia, belongs to the species of flowering plants of the Bean family.
It was named after a Florentine Filippo del Albizzi, who brought the silk flower to Europe in the 18th century. The plant is widespread in Iran, Turkey, southeast Azerbaijan, the Far East (China, Japan, Taiwan), the Indian subcontinent (Bhutan, northern India, Nepal, Kashmir), in Southeast Asia (Myanmar). On the territory of Ukraine, the silk tree is found mainly in the Crimea.
In Uzhgorod, the tree can be found in the botanical garden of Uzhgorod National University.
You will have a chance to admire its pink flowers for about a week.
Действительно, без цветов, оно совсем не примечательный. Сейчас же
тысячами цветочков-фонариков. Их розовым цветом можно будет любоваться еще около недели.
