The Vice-Rector Yuriy Peresta explained the partners from Beregovo Medical College the benefits of the cooperation with the University. Recently, under the initiative of the UzhNU Rector Fedir Vashchuk and the Vice-Rector, MD, Professor Yuriy Peresta, they signed a cooperation agreement between Uzhgorod National University and Beregovo College of Medicine. This agreement, among other things, provides for opportunity for college graduates to enter the second year of the medical faculty of the University. Recently, Professor Yuriy Peresta visited Beregovo and met with the college faculty and graduates, many of whom already want to take advantage of this opportunity.
It should be noted that after Uzhgorod National University signed a cooperation agreement with Beregovo Medical College, heads of Khust and Mizhhirya medical colleges appealed to the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda and asked for a similar cooperation. The relevant agreements have been concluded. According to Yuriy Peresta, currently, about 40 graduates of the three medical educational institutions are willing to enter UzhNU.
It is important to note that, despite the various rumors about the loss of the colleges autonomy, they are not going to merge with the university. The educational institutions will be cooperating with UzhNU, maintaining legal and financial independence. The University will not interfere in their business activities. On the contrary, the agreement provides that UzhNU when possible will help to improve the material and technical facilities of the colleges.
Interesting fact: now in Uzhgorod National University there are 116 departments, 33 of which are of medical field. The partnership agreement provides that leading scientists, university professors will be lecturing at the colleges, and will be members of examination boards.
"This cooperation is very important because it will enable to form a unified system of training: Junior Specialist – Bachelor – Master. And students will have the opportunity to enter the 2nd year of the medical faculty, bypassing the EIT. They will only have to pass exams", – the Vice-Rector said at the meeting in Beregovo.
