The story with the border guard, who died under the wheels of a smuggler’s car, had an unexpected development. The chairman of a village council in Rakhiv district was directly involved in it.
According to the press service of the State Border Guard Service, a 48-year-old chairman of a village council in Rakhiv district was detained for a $ 500 bribe.
Law enforcers found out that this village chairman was in close contact with a group of people, whose actions led to the death of the border guard Vadim Berezensky. It is suspected that some of the tobacco products detained on that day belonged to him. The criminal proceeding was opened under Part 3 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Offer, promise or granting of unlawful benefit to an official".
