A Ukrainian was rid of his car for 1.5 thousand cigarettes (PHOTOS)

Yesterday, Chop border guards found and detained persons trying to illegally move contraband cigarettes abroad.

Thus, a car "Skoda" driven by a citizen of Ukraine without cargo arrived at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" to leave Ukraine. But because of the driver’s hesitation while explaining the route of his trip, border guards suspected a possible transportation of products and items hidden from border and customs control in this vehicle. During the in-depth inspection, border guards together with customs officers found cigarettes "LM red" and "LM blue" that the driver was trying to carry to the Slovak Republic in a specially equipped cache, namely in the double bottom of the rear bumper of the car.

Currently, the found more than 1.5 thousand packs of cigarettes and the vehicle were seized, the cost of the confiscated goods is almost 100 thousand hryvnia.

Administrative procedural documents against the detainee were drawn up, the vehicle and the contraband tobacco products were seized and handed over to the law authorities.
