A Ukrainian lost a car worth more than 23,000 UAH because of tobacco smuggling

As a result of the in-depth inspection of the truck, driven by a Ukrainian to the checkpoint "Luzhanka" of the Chop Customs, customs officials found 19,830 packs of cigarettes of various brands.

Heading towards the exit from Ukraine, the driver submitted for customs control a card for moving through the "red corridor" lane, a passport of the citizen of Ukraine and registration documents for the vehicle. Before carrying out customs control, the Ukrainian orally stated that he had no hidden goods and items. However, during the inspection of the truck, customs officials found a specially made "tobacco" stash, which was in the rear part of the cargo compartment.

Thus, the citizen of Ukraine committed actions aimed at transportation of goods concealed from customs control across the customs border of Ukraine, using specially manufactured caches, which complicate the identification of such goods.

These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
