A Transcarpathian will spend 7 years in jail for smuggling

The sentence of the Uzhgorod city and district court in Transcarpathian region against the citizen of Ukraine, who was convicted of organizing drugs smuggling, has entered into force.

It was found out that the drugs smuggling channel was organized by a 34-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk, who previously had been held criminally liable for illegal sales of drugs. It was found out that the offender ordered pills of "buprenorphine" from his friend, who had gone to work in one of the countries of Western Europe. In early June 2012, the accomplice bought the pills abroad and sent them to Ukraine under the guise of a parcel of food by the international transportation system.

At one of the bus stations in Ivano-Frankivsk, a local woman took the parcel of drugs and gave it to the organizer of smuggling for payment. Immediately after that, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained the offender.
