There has been a report that a person is being held illegally in the Beregovo Psychiatric Hospital despite the decision of the Appeal Court of Transcarpathian region, which states that, according to the conclusion of forensic psychiatric examination, the person has undergone inpatient treatment, after which his health has improved, he was discharged under care of his mother, and at the moment of the application consideration, there was no need for the use of medical restraints.
The press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region informs about the release of a Transcarpathian, who was illegally held in the regional psychiatric hospital.
On July 20, 2018, Beregovo local prosecutor’s office, immediately after receiving the information about possible ungrounded detention of a person in the regional psychiatric hospital of Beregovo, took measures to release the Transcarpathian from the hospital.
As it has been established, the regional psychiatric hospital has not received the decision of the Court of Appeal of Transcarpathian region dd. July 12, 2018, which abolished the decision of Tyachiv district court dd. August 15, 2017 on the imposition of medical restraint on the suspect.
Also, Beregovo local prosecutor’s office has received no requests or letters from the relatives or other authorized representatives of the suspect, which would testify to the illegality of his detention.
Accordingly, the prosecutor’s office has taken comprehensive measures to obtain the decision of the Court of appeal and to deliver it to the specialized institution in order to release the Transcarpathian.
