On October 1, Svalyava police received a report from a resident of the village of Pasika in Svalyava district. The applicant reported that a thief had been detained in the village.
The investigative team arrived at the scene. The thief was a 47-year-old resident of neighboring Lviv region. This man has a criminal record for burglary, and this time he tried to rob a house of a 60-year-old pensioner. The offender removed the glass pane out of a window, entered the house, and tried to steal tools and jeans from there. But he was noticed and detained by neighbors.
The thief was taken to Svalyava police station. Physical evidence was seized. An investigation over this incident has been initiated.
