A summer film school will open in Transcarpathia

On August 12-19, a unique event – summer cinema school with professional movie stars – will take place in the Skalka Tract, in the territory of the UzhNU student recreational complex. 
Our scenic land was once a Mecca of film-makers, many films were made here, including the Oscar-winning movie Waterloo made by an Italian producer. After years of decline, Ukrainian cinema is once again experiencing a rapid development. The growing film industry an needs an influx of new people, directors, screenwriters, producers, actors, cinematographers and professional lighting technicians. Source. 
It gives creative young people a real chance to change their lives, to try themselves in cinema. For such people, the Transcarpathian Film Commission for the second year in a row organizes a summer film school, which will basically be a film set for amateur film-makers. This year the film school will be held in the Skalka Tract, on the territory of the UzhNU student health complex. The participants of the film school will be living in a tent camp, attending training of experienced cinematographers, shooting their own movies and enjoying nature. 
The program of film schools includes blitz-lectures on the basics of film production, screenwriting, directing, artistic production, cinematography and acting, editing, sound production, and color correction. The participants will be able to shoot their own content using professional equipment and edit it into short films that can be submitted to festival competitions.
