A smuggling attempt was prevented in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)

Yesterday, servicemen of the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment prevented an attempt of cigarette smuggling across the Ukrainian-Romanian border.  
While patrolling the area of the department "Yablunivka", the squad saw a group of men with packages. During the attempt to detain them, the offenders, taking advantage of the considerable distance from the servicemen, left their cargo and fled. Surveying the area, border guards found 8 packages, which contained 4,320 packs of cigarettes. State Fiscal Service and the National Police in Transcarpathian region were notified about signs of a crime under Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for sale of excisable goods." 
The tobacco products were delivered to the border guard unit and later will be handed over to the SFS.
