A Russian man sneaking abroad through the woods was detained in Velyky Berezny

An alien, who tried to illegally get to Slovakia, was detained yesterday by border guards of the Chop detachment.

A local resident reported about a suspicious alien to the officers of Velyky Berezny department. He told the district inspector that he had noticed a middle-aged man with a backpack heading towards the border. In order to check the information and find the potential offender, a response team was sent to the specified area. The unknown man was detained when he was trying to overcome the fence. The detainee was a citizen of the Russian Federation. He had a passport and, as the border guards found out, had entered the territory of our state in a legal way. However, the man could not legally get to Europe because he did not have a Schengen visa. Therefore, he decided to get to the states of the European Union bypassing the checkpoints. The offender planned his route using the Internet.

In order to clarify the circumstances of the offense and bring him to administrative responsibility, the offender was taken to a temporary detention center of the Chop border guard detachment. He will be brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 204-1 of the CAO "Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine".
