A Hungarian tried to pay border guards 20,000 HUF for cigarette smuggling

Chop border guards together with employees of the customs checkpoint "Tisa" prevented two attempts of cigarette smuggling. 

Yesterday, around 17.00, a 49-year-old citizen of Hungary in a car "Audi" was going through the checkpoint to leave Ukraine. Taking into account all the risks of illegal movement of prohibited items, border guards took his car for in-depth inspection. However, to avoid inspection and freely cross the state border, the driver of the vehicle offered border guards 20,000 Hungarian forints. The border guards refused to take undue advantage and reported to the police about signs of a crime under Part 1 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code "offer, promise or giving of an undue benefit to an officer".

In addition, after the inspection of the car, it turned out that the Hungarian had hidden under the decorative interior paneling 100 packs of cigarettes of various brands. 

Also an hour later, while checking the received information, border guards found contraband cigarettes in the car of a 30-year-old Ukrainian. The violator hid 139 packs of tobacco products under decorative interior paneling of his van "Reno" which was heading through the checkpoint to the neighboring country. 

Along with the cigarettes, the car "Audi" made in 1997 and the "Reno" made in 2007 with a total value of 300,000 UAH were seized from the foreigner and the Ukrainian.
