The Chief State Inspector of the Customs Clearance Department at one of the customs posts of the Transcarpathian Customs demanded and received from a resident of Uzhgorod an illegal benefit in the amount of USD 1,200 for entering into the database false information regarding the departure of a vehicle with foreign registration outside the customs territory of Ukraine.
At the moment, the person has been detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine, preliminary investigative activities are being conducted, the notice of suspicion is being prepared under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the choice of pre-trial restraint is being decided, the press service of the prosecutor’s office informed.
The sanction of the article provides for a sentence in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years.
