The accident with a tourist boat occurred on the Danube river in Budapest. There were 33 tourists from South Korea and two crew members on board the ship, the Ukrainska Pravda informs, citing 444.hu. Seven tourists and one crew member died, seven people were rescued. 21 people are missing. They are still being searched for.
The tourist boat called "Hableany" ("Mermaid") had two decks and could accommodate up to 45 people for excursions.
At around 9:00 PM on Wednesday, the boat sank after another vessel crashed into it. At the time of the collision, the "Mermaid" was anchored near the Margit Bridge across the Danube.
The accident occurred during bad weather, it was raining heavily, and there were high waves on the river.
It was reported that the tourist boat collided with a large ship, about 130 meters long, and sank very quickly.
In the video, you can see the "Viking Sygin" crashing into the "Mermaid", following which the pleasure boat capsizes.
