The program of development of tourism and resorts in Transcarpathian Region for 2016-2020 has been developed in the region. It is proposed to allocate over UAH 9 million for the its implementation.
It is predicted that the number of tourists, who will visit the region, will increase from 390,000 in 2016 to 680,000 in 2020.
The program provides for the development and promotion of tourist product of Transcarpathia in domestic and international tourist markets; development and reconstruction of the road infrastructure; development of health and medical tourism based on mineral waters; development of ecological tourism based on natural and protected areas of the region; provision of the tourism and recreational industry of the region with qualified personnel and intoduction of a system to monitor the work of tourism companies, tour guides and guide-interpreters working in the region.
